AN HISTORIC CLUB WITH A MAGNIFICENT GEORGIAN PARKLAND SETTING SINCE 1893

RONAN O'Reilly is County Armagh Golf Club's ‘Golfer of the Year'.

He was crowned Club Champion after one of his most successful ever seasons.

A new club championship format saw points awarded to Week-end Qualifying Competition winners, runners up and category winners during the year.

And picking up points in no less than six of those competitions, Ronan emerged as the outright winner.

Playing off an 8-handicap at the beginning of the season (he's now off 6), Ronan won the McElvanna Drapery and Footwear sponsored stroke competition – with an impressive nett 62 score.

A month later he was back in the prizes his 40 points winning a Sunday Club Stableford Competition.

He was also runner up in the Gerry Lenagh Trophy with 42 points; runner up in a Club stableford event in June with 41 points and runner up in a club stroke in July with a nett 68.

To crown the year, Ronan also picked up a category runner up prize in the August Medal competition.

Club Captain Martin Oliver congratulated Ronan on an “exceptionally successful year”.

“Ronan showed great consistency throughout the playing season and is a deserved winner of the Club Championship. He's an example to us all and I have no doubt he will go on to enjoy further success next year and for many more years to come.”
