JONATHAN McKnight was simply untouchable in the Alan Rankin PGA sponsored stableford competition at County Armagh.
With 44 points, his winning score was four points better than all the rest.
The 8-handicapper penciled in eight pars and a birdie for a front nine score of 23 points. And recording further steady scoring on the back nine, with a further birdie – at the 18 th – his 42 points was always a winner.
Rodney Villiers (20) 38 points was the next best on the day – his better back nine (21 points) taking the runner's up prize ahead of three others who also scored 38 points.
In Category 1, it was Adam Cromwell (6) who claimed first prize with 37 points and a better back nine than Martin Gill (5) who returned 37 points also.
Big hittin' Michael Calvert (15) won Category 2 with 38 points and again a better back nine (19 points) taking it ahead of Garrett O'Reilly on 38 points also.
Brendan Lynch won Category 3 with 38 points with Gerry Cullen runner up on 34 points.
And Shea Smyth (3) had the Best Gross Stableford score – 33 points.
