MARK Hughes was a master of consistency in County Armagh's recent Sunday stableford competition.

The 19-handicapper chalked up 20 points from his front nine holes and repeated that score on the back nine for a winning total of 40 points.

Lee Stewart (6) was the next best on the day with 38 points – a ‘no score' at the par three 9 th hole proving costly.

Gary McCourt (9) topped Category 1 with 37 points – a birdie at the par five 8 th hole and a no score at the par three 12 th the highlights of his round. Jonathan McKnight (8) birdied the 8 th and 11th holes on his way to 37 points and the runner's up prize in Category 1.

Kenny Spence (15) showed some of his old winning form to claim first place in Category 2 with 38 points - which was two better than Conor McGuigan (17) on 36, and runner up.

In Category 3, Norman Mallon (22) was back among the prizes – his winning score of 36 points two points ahead of Tom Donnelly (20) on 34 points - and the rest of the field.
