AN HISTORIC CLUB WITH A MAGNIFICENT GEORGIAN PARKLAND SETTING SINCE 1893

EUGENE Creelman’s 41 stableford points was enough to lift the County Armagh Half-Century Cup.

In the annual competition for the club’s over 50’s golfers, the 13-handicapper took the honours – albeit on countback, after Derick Hynes returned an equally impressive 41 points.

A massive 23 points from his back nine holes – added to 18 points from the front nine - undoubtedly sealed the result for Eugene.

‘No scores’ at the second and 15th holes cost Derick dearly, but he was still a delighted recipient of the runner’s up prize.

And in third place was the ever-young Alex Nesbitt whose 40 points and better back six best of the rest.
