SEAN McAnenly obviously enjoyed the spotlight of prize-giving at County Armagh, so much so he returned to it just two days after making a presentation on behalf his McAnenly Transport Ltd company.

This time however, Sean was on the receiving end – as the deserved winner of the Open Week Stroke competition sponsored by Holmes & Doran Surveyors .

The 14-handicapper's nett 66 was the best on the day, albeit on countback.

He pencilled in seven pars and a birdie two on his way to victory.


County Armagh Golf Club Captain Martin Oliver presents Sean McAnenly with his prize as winner of the Holmes and Doran Surveyors sponsored stroke competition. Included also are runners up Simon Arthurs, Philip Kelly and Mark Frazer.

Simon Arthurs (22) conceded to Sean on countback after he too returned a nett 66.

Paul Murray (8) from Edenmore returned a nett 67 to claim third prize with Mark Frazer (9) two shots further adrift on nett 68, claiming the fourth prize.

Philip Kelly (1) had the best gross score, 71.
