DANNY McGee hit top form in the County Armagh Sunday stableford competition during Open Week.
The 16-handicapper returned an untouchable 45 points to win it – by two points from nearest rival Gary McDonald.
A massive 25points from the front nine holes set Danny on his way to victory, and steady scoring for another 20 points over the back nine holes saw him home with that impressive tally.
Gary McDonald, on any other day would have been expecting to lift the top prize with his 43 points. On this occasion however, he had to settle for the runner's up prize. The 16-handicapper pencilled in 23 points from the front nine holes and like Danny, added a further 20 points from the back nine holes.
Michael Curley (12) led home the category winners with 39 points – his better back nine winning it ahead of Andrew Conn (9) whose no-scores at the 6 th and 18 th holes cost him dearly.
Colin Hughes won Category 2 with 40points with Martin Grimley runner up on 38 points.
Paul Donnelly's (25) 39 points was the best in Category 3 – by 2 points – Aidan McParland (19) runner up on 37 points.
And the Best Gross score was returned by Andrew Miller, 35pts.
