AN HISTORIC CLUB WITH A MAGNIFICENT GEORGIAN PARKLAND SETTING SINCE 1893

WHILE the middle-aged and senior members of County Armagh Golf Club indulged in their respective cup events, James Johnston was putting on a show for the young'uns in the Sunday Club stableford.

Playing off a handicap of five, the local bakery worker returned a formidable 41 points to win the competition open to those below the half-century age.

County Armagh Golf Club Captain Richard Black presents James Johnston with his prize after winning the Sunday club stableford competition. Included also are runners up Shea Brady and Martin Carson

A birdie 2 at the third boosted his front nine score to 21 points and with another birdie 2 at the 13 th hole part of a further 20 points amassed from the back nine, his 41 points total was always going to be a tough act to follow.

M Carson did his best with 40 points recorded to claim second prize – failing to score at the 4 th hole! And it was a similar story for Shea Brady back in third place with 39points and a ‘no score' at the 12 th hole.
