DESPITE a nervous finish – double bogey, bogey - Ciaran Moore clinched the Open Stableford prize during County Armagh Open Week.
Ciaran Moore clinched the Holmes and Doran Surveyors Ltd sponsored Open Stableford prize during County Armagh Open Week,and is pictured receiving his prize from Club Vice Captain Martin Oliver. Inlcuded also is runner up Paul Doyle.
The young golfer, playing of a handicap of 15, returned 40 points to win the competition sponsored by Holmes and Doran Surveyors Ltd.
A steady 18 points from the front nine holes complimented by 22 on the back nine, was enough to secure the prize.
Mark Frazer (10) was runner up with a similar 40 points but conceded to Ciaran on countback – a double bogey at the 16 th hole undoubtedly his downfall.
Nicholas Currie (19) followed up his Captain's Day prize winning exploits with a third place finish in the competition – again returning 40 points, 17 and 23 respectively front and back nine holes.
Lee Campbell was also back among the prizes and with a birdie 2 at the 7 th hole and a ‘no score' at the 17 th , it could have been so much better. However, his 40 points, 24 and 16 points front and back nines respectively, earned him fourth prize.
Kenny Edgar was obviously keen to impress his work colleagues and competition sponsor at Holmes and Doran, and will no doubt replay his round for all to in work after returning a winning score of 39 points for the penultimate prize.
And the effervescent Paul Doyle (5) deservedly picked up number six with 38 points.
