AN HISTORIC CLUB WITH A MAGNIFICENT GEORGIAN PARKLAND SETTING SINCE 1893

WITH an eagle at the par five 12 th hole along with three birdies on his card, Lee Stewart was always onto a winning round in the Sunday stableford at County Armagh.


County Armagh Golf Club Captain Richard Black presents Lee Stewart with his prize after winning the James Coburn and Son Ltd sponsored Stableford competition. Included also are runners up Niall Brady and Brian Hughes.

The 9-handicapper was in fact five points better than all the rest in the competition sponsored by James Coburn & Son Ltd .

Lee returned a massive score of 48 points to win the event ahead of Basil Jolly on 43 points – which, on any other Sunday, might have taken the top prize.

22 points from the front nine with back-to-back birdies at the 7 th and 8 th holes the highlight, was complimented by the eagle at the 12 th and a further birdie at the 14 th to secure a further 26 points for the win.

Niall Brady (5) was the next best of the low handicappers with 39 points, with birdies at the 3 rd and 17 th holes earning him first prize in the category ahead of Jerome Leer, who also retuned 39 points – birdies at the 7 th and 12 th on his card too.

Paul Morgan's 39 points secured first prize in category 2, three points ahead of Brian Hughes on 36points.

And in Category 3 Roger Seeley's 39 points was a clear winner by six points – Tom Donnelly the next best on 33 points.
