Tommy's becoming a Sunday specialist

MISSING out on the top prize in the previous Sunday stableford by the narrowest of margins, Tommy Mackin was to go one better to win the very next week.

14-handicapper Tommy returned an untouchable 40points to claim the prize. He produced steady golf on the outward trek to chalk up 19 points by the turn. And with a three over par back nine, added a further 21 points for that winning score.

Barry Scully, even with a birdie to finish his round, just couldn't quite catch Tommy. His 39 points for runners up however, might have been a winning score had he not had a 'no score' at the 15th.

Alan Pedlow led home the category winners with 39 points with Andrew Dunwoody runner up in Category 1 with 38 points.

Tom Fox returned a similar 38 points to win Category 2, just beating on countback another 38 points scorer in Kenny Spence.

And Tom Donnelly's 38 points was two better than Henry Lyttle's 36 in Category 3.
