We've all been dismayed by the enforced closure of the course over the past week. The Baltic conditions did not deter our greens staff and tree surgeon who have been busy attending to drainage and dangerous tree issues.
Additional drains have been installed on the 5th and 6 holes and efforts made to locate a blocked drain on the 16th close to the bottom of the hill when coming from the tee.
The second tee has been closed for safety reasons while work to trim and remove dangerous poplar trees has been undertaken. The work is largely complete, save for felling of a large trunk, the roots of which may be encroaching on electricity cabling. This will take a little more time to deal with safely.
The works have already improved the light getting to the tee box and this will help address turf condition and growth issues.
