Sixty ladies played in the Ian Donaldson Stableford competition and despite the unfavourable weather on the last day of June there were some wonderful scores.
Eileen Fitzsimmons continued her excellent form to return a card with 45 points closely followed by her good friend Bernie Rice on 44 points. In third place came Hilary Johnston on 38 points.
A Club Stroke competition was played on Thursday 23rd June and the winner with a fabulous nett 66 was Gillian Poole.
June 18 th 2016 was certainly a day to treasure for the Honorary Treasurer of the Ladies Branch of County Armagh Golf Club Jacqueline Kelly who was the overall winner on Lady Captain's Day.
There was a great turn-out on the day and everyone enjoyed the lovely condition of the course and the beautiful weather as they competed for one of the fabulous paintings Lady Captain Una had commissioned from her very talented artist niece Ms Orla Cullinane.

Two trophies were played for on Thursday 16 th June. The Fox Cup for 0-27 handicaps was won by Colette McAleavey with an excellent score of nett 68. The winner of the Culmore Shield (28-36) with nett 69 was a delighted Sheila Stinson who, on behalf of her company Daily Bake, generous sponsors of the competition, presented all of the other winners with a beautiful selection of prizes. Sylvia Ashe had the best 9-hole result with 19 points. Sheila has sponsored this competition for a number of years and the Ladies Branch is very appreciative of her support.
The beautiful weather continued this week and there were some fabulous scores. Lily McMullan, Anne McDonald and Vera Ellingham topped their respective sections and will represent the club in the finals in Dunmurry later in the summer. The Lady Captain thanked the new sponsor for this competition, Campbell Fuels and expressed her appreciation of their generosity.
The weather and conditions were almost perfect this week for the ladies who turned out to play in the Marie Curie Classic, again very generously sponsored by Rice’s Supermarket, Keady.
The competition took the form of a 2 person team event and the sponsor Phil was in the clubhouse on Thursday evening to present a beautiful selection of hampers to the lucky winners.
In first place were Alexandra and Elizabeth Mawhinney with 43 pts narrowly beating Frances Davidson and Teresa McVeigh on the better back 9.
The Daisy Ferguson Greensomes took place this week and was again very generously sponsored by Wrights Interiors, Russell Street Armagh.
A thrilled Lady Captain Una Cullinane and her partner Anne Black were the winners with 36 points while Sheila Hughes and Kathleen Mallon came second with 35 points and Pauline Vallely and Catherine Mone third also with 35 points.
